A little late...

Yes, it's been almost a month since I wrote. To those who wait on bated breath.. and there's not a lot of you :), I am sorry.

Hubby's surgery came and went and he's fine. Back to work and scaring his employees.

My children are doing wonderful. Wes, my five year old, won a math achievement award. Where he got the math skills from is a mystery. Ray, my three year daughter, continues to her quest to be the youngest juvenile deliquent on record. This week, she is telling everyone that she has been pooping in the potty and then proceeds to try to demonstrate this fact to whomever she just revealed this to by pulling down her pants and squatting. Cute but when the person in question, is someone, say the Home Depot clerk or the clerk at the tag office, it's kind of embarrassing.

I found a new yarn this week from the Yarn Place. She sells on eBay and the yarn is incredible. Knits up like a dream and felts awesome. I'm currently knitting a new purse on my new Knit Picks Options. Am I one happening knitter or what?

If anyone wants a disobedient Collie, please let me know. A couple of months ago, the goofy thing wrapped his tail around my working yarn and took off. My WIP was flaying in the wind as I chased him around the house, desperately trying not to loose stitches. My husband sat back and laughed. He said all he needed was popcorn to make this event better than the movies. This week, he started trying to lick me and ended up drooling on my Knit Picks size 11. If they rust, I'm going to banish him to the backyard forever.

My knitting group, the Knit Wits of Georgia, is planning a pilgrimmage to five different yarn stores in metro Atlanta on 3/3. I cannot wait!! Wish me luck and say a prayer that I won't be arrested!

It's Over...

Like most people, I love Christmas but I'm sure glad the maniac activities are over. I managed to finish knitting all my Christmas presents and am now starting on my mother's birthday present. Easy enough---hold four strands of WW yarn together in complimentary colors on size 50, cast on 36 and knit in stockinette until your hands fall off. I made little pom-poms to attach on the ends.

My hubby was a very good Santa. I got a complete set of Knitpicks Options knitting needles including all the larger needles. I cannot wait to get started on them. My next project is going to be designing my very first dishcloth!!!

I'm pulling out my hair!!

Which might help with my stash. I am in the final stages of Christmas knitting. My mother flew in from Texas last week and being a good daughter, I dropped everything and knit her a new hat and slippers as well as trying to finish up the last blocks of a Christmas afghan/present. Argggghhh!!!!

Tonight is the Christmas party for my local knitting group--The Knit Wits of Georgia. We are have a yarn exchange and potluck dinner at 6 p.m. I'm giving two hanks of recycled silk sari yarn. I still have to find something to bring to the dinner. Arggghhh!!

Then my hubby has surgery this week. Argghhh!!

I also gave blood yesterday with my three year old daughter. Note to self: Never, ever take a three year old with you when you are giving blood. Did you know FDA regulations state no one, not even your three year old daughter who is more interested in digging in your purse can be present while you are answering those Red Cross interview questions?
Also never let your daughter near the head of your little reclining chair while the tech is sticking your arm. Also never let your daughter play near the snack table b/c she will open all the Nutter Butters, take bites out them and spit them out. Argghhhh!!

A note to all: If you knit or crochet, please go to the World War II musuem site. They are collecting scarves for our veterans.

My first post...

I'm a blogger virgin so here goes...I hope it's not too painful.

I'm a SAHM who knits and knits. I occassionally bicycle and do housework but mostly I knit. I run a knitting group in Winder, GA. I teach knitting at a local recreation department. I volunteer to teach knitting to fifth graders at my local elementary school. I knit for children's shelters, disabled veterans, cancer victims and generally whoever looks like they could use a pick me up.

If I can figure out my digital camera, I'll post some FOs (finished objects).
